Fortunately my trip to Paris has not only been about work….
When I am out of the office, I get to do what other tourist would do in Paris….including:
Appreciating fine arts at Musée du Louvre
Touring the famous landmarks such as Tour Eiffel
Enjoying a satisfying meal which always concludes with a perfect dessert

Lucky you to be in Paris. If you want to try really rustic food, one of the best places to go is LIPP, though it get crowded quickly there.
I hope you had fun in Paris Yi! I’m assuming you are back? Paris is such a beautiful city with so much to offer – especially sweets! I hope you partook in the goodies that the pâtisseries had to offer. You’ll have to tell us all about your trip in your next post! 🙂

I am all about taking in the culture and the art. I love the museums and walking along the Sienne river, there is also boat cruises as well. I enjoy the parks and of course you have to find the food markets. The best way to get to know a city is in the fresh markets. I love to but baguettes, cheese, fruits and some wine and have a picnic in one of the lovely parks. I think that some of the little relaxed days you have the best memories. Maybe a trip to the markets will inspire some new dishes for your return. Take Care, BAM

Having cafés or other drinks outside of cafés and getting fashion inspiration from the passers-by? 😉 You might want to taste Pierre Hermé’s sweet treats (I recommend his macarons: the famous Ladurée can hide… his macarons are sophisticated, not overly sweet and taste heavenly… try passionfruit or jasmine). Have a meal in one of the most beautiful restaurants in France and definitely the most beautiful train station restaurant in the world (Train Bleu at gare de Lyon); they have the best steak tartare in the world! (my favourite beef dish, so I know what I’m talking about 😉 ) and their ceiling is unforgettable. There are so many excellent restaurants… but of course it depends on what you look for.
Whenever I go to Paris, I spend lots of time clothes shopping… but I don’t know if you are interested in this… (I do this in every city I go to!).

You should check out Laduree while you’re still in Paris. They have the best macarons!

I love Paris! Gorgeous city, and such great food. If you haven’t seen it, Napoleon’s tomb is fun. You’ll have to do a post telling us about all of your meals! Have fun.

I am happy to know you are in Paris. I come from there, my hometown is actually in the suburb (near Disneyland Paris) but live in Shenzhen now. I hope you are enjoying the city a lot, and not getting too disappointed if it’s your first time. Many people idealize Paris too much and get frustated when they discover the hostility of the locals or the horrid smell in the Metro, I hope you can see the beauty beyond it 🙂 I have many places to recommend you :
I like to hang out around la basilique du Sacré-Coeur, lots of cafes, antique shops, long stairs… think Amélie Poulain! but watch out for scammers in the street. I also like the district Le Marais (Metro St Paul), there are many cool desiner shops, cafes, just follow any narrow streets and you might end up in a big courtyard where you can rest on a grass 🙂
On a sunny day, just walking on the quays along the river La Seine makes me happy.
I love the Chinatown (Paris 13) you can buy pretty much everything Asian over there. My favorite restaurant is Hao Hao, not far from the Mcdonalds (Metro Porte de Choisy). I used to go there for midnight supper with my parents and always order the Cambodian noodles (dry, soup on the side). Tricotin is also pretty famous among the Asian community, Pho13 is the most popular one for Vietnamese Pho 🙂 For thai food I recommend L’escale Bangkok, métro Trocadéro. I also used to go often to Le Temps au Temps Métro Faidherbe – Chaligny, that is solid French gastronomy and not too expensive!
If you like weird stuff, I highly recommend Les catacombes (Metro Denfert-Rochereau). I haven’t been there for a year, I cannot remember everything on the spot but if you need more advice, please let me know. Enjoy your stay and take care !
