For those of you have been to Singapore, this Singapore national dish hardly needs any introductions. But for those of us who haven’t been there, Singapore chili crab is dish which meaty crabs cooked in a sweet, savory, and chili-tomato based sauce.

After a few tries in my little home kitchen I got some good success. I even tossed in some Sichuan spicy bean paste and dry herbs add some Sichuan twist to it (you might also call it fusion).

I survived New York’s brutal weather last week without an AC (the poor fan was working overtime everyday). It was nothing to be proud of but I was certainly glad that I had made some great summer snack to help me get through the heat.

This weekend has been a quite different story compared to the past few days. The temperature is a notch lower so I finally feel like to cook again. I finally roll up my sleeves and put up the AC that I had been pushing off. I also feel like eating something light and soupy but not sure what exactly to cook.

As the summer is right around the corner, I, like many fellow New Yorkers, look forward to a vacation somewhere away from the city.

Lately I’ve been day-dreaming about an exotic gateway to a tropical island where I will do nothing but relaxing on a white sand beach by a deep blue ocean. When I get tired I will just sit back on a beach chair to sip my mojito and snack on a serving of Chinese buffet style coconut shrimp.
